My Page Boy powered by a TD .010. Built in 2010. It is built partially from an Early RC kit which was damaged in shipping so I cut some of it by hand. Weighs just over 4oz. 2012 is the 50th Anniversary of this Ken Willard design.

Very nice plane there Troy.
I really like it and seeing a flight vid may convince me to build one Smile

Pong Two powered by a Medallion .09. This was built alongside the yellow one but was beefed up a bit more for the larger engine. Still going strong since 2007.

I call this one El Pongito. I scaled the Pong Two down roughly half-size and redimensioned it a bit to fit all the gear inside. Powered by a TD .010. It's a handful with the scaled down airfoil. Must be tossed hard and speed maintained during flight or it can get squirrely. Keep it up on the step and it's a sweetheart.

A La Stick. Built in 2007 and flown for a couple of years with a TD .010. A fun zippy flyer. Then I modified it a bit and switched the engine to a TD .020. She's a screamer now.

This a Skydrill built from a Select Hobbies kit in 2008. It's been flown hard and often for 4 years. It's set up for reed-valve .049s. Flies great with a stock Surestart but I like the way it grooves with a hotter reedie such as the Skyline FX that's usually mounted. This is probably my best flying 1/2A model.

The Scoundrel. Designed by Steve Adams of Select Hobbies. I built it from a pre-production kit that he made available a couple of years ago. Several folks built one and we got them together at the SMALL fly-in in 2010. This was the only Cox powered version. The others have electric motors or a little PAW diesel. Recently, I installed one of Bernie's intake throttles on the Surestart and she now putters around nice and slow with the throttle pulled back.

Another one in the making. This is called the Scalpel. Another possibly-soon-to-be-released kit from Steve Adams of Select Hobbies. It's design is greatly influenced by the Ace Simple 400 which is no longer produced. It uses tapered Ace-style foam wings. This one will be powered by my Mangusta DR .049 rear rotary induction engine made by Tim Wiltse. I purchased it over 3 years ago and just recently got around to firing it up. There is a thorough build thread of this one over at RCU. I hope to start test flights by the end of February.

The Skydrill kits are sold by selecthobbies.com. He's probably got them in stock.

Hey Tee Bee,
It's a little hard to tell from the pic- is your Pageboy rudder only or rudder and elevator?

looks like rudder and elevator to me.
You can see a rather pronounced line near the back where it becomes a control surface.

Correct. The Pageboy is 2 channel. Flies great! Surprisingly quick. Not surprisingly, the undercambered wings prefer calm conditions. The next time out, I plan to fly it with the prop mounted backwards to slow it down a bit. That was mentioned in the original Ken Willard build article. To date, I've only flown it in "high gear".

I'm trying to rig up a way to convert some of my tape vids to digital tonight. If I'm successful, I plan to post footage of most of these models flying including the Pageboy.

Vids would be great, the Skydrill looks very similar to my Sig Hummer. Is it elevator/ailerons?
