Re: Cox Conquest .15
Well I learned something today at lunch. The 15 R/C did not come with a spinner.... so much for buying one... It should look purdy though
Oh and it didn't have a button head... so much for ordering a button glow plug....

Can darn near build one out of parts here:

Re: Cox Conquest .15
Those stock levels are VERY iffy. Some have never been updated for years,,as per Mecoa.

Re: Cox Conquest .15
OS number 8 is a medium plug in bothe length and temperature so a good place to start.
Re: Cox Conquest .15
You'll need a long reach plug. KB-1L are nice ones, but I've mainly used the glow inserts on mine.

Re: Cox Conquest .15
Mecoa sent me an email saying it was ready to ship. I asked about the spinner and they said it would fit. I think it will look nice Also they said they'll swap the glow plug out that I ordered. So... I should have it up and running soon
Re: Cox Conquest .15
What brand/type of prop do you use? I'm having issues finding one that fits in the aluminum spinner?
Re: Cox Conquest .15
You have to trim the spinner to fit the prop.

Anyone? It'll pop once but never run. I've got a sore finger and arm this morning.

Yeah same as a tee dee.
High compression, small prop means you can't
Use as much flywheel effect.
So just flick hard or use an electric starter.
Re: Cox Conquest .15
I know it's dangerous, but could I use a string and T-handle and wrap a couple 3 turns around the prop shaft?

Really if your gonna risk something risk the engine not your fingers and use am electric starter but if you flick hard enough with you fingers it should go.remember there is a high chance the string would be tangled in the prop, tightening and pulling your hand down into it.
Re: Cox Conquest .15
I don't want to buy an electric starter for one engine that I want to see run. I flicked it for over an hour yesterday Even tried to make my own drill powered electric starter, no luck....
Re: Cox Conquest .15
I strongly agree with what Indra said! I never want to hear about anyone ever being hurt by an engine. Remember to check your glow plug/button to make sure it is glowing bright orange, put 3-5 drops of fuel in the carb and flip vigorously. It also helps, and can be used to prime, to hook the tank up to the engine, put a piece of clean fuel tube on the vent line and blow through the vent until fuel is up to the carb. If you do not want to put the 3-5 drops of fuel in the carb you can "blow" the fuel directly in by blowing through the vent. Just be careful of flooding since it is hard to judge how much fuel actually makes it into the carb. Also, have the throttle wide open for the initial starts and until you get to know the engine's personality better.
Good luck,
Bob

Re: Cox Conquest .15
The reports I've read, they are suppose to be easy to hand start cold.... go figure. Ya, I wasn't too keen on the T-handle idea... I'd just like to see it run
Re: Cox Conquest .15
I also don't have the spinner on it..... how about a "Y" shaped fork starter to slip over and catch the prop.... much better then the T-handle idea
