hey, i mentioned this airplane in a post a while back "help with identifying these models" well I found out that the bigger one with the yellow wing is a scaled up version of a "lil esquire"
lil esquire rtf Dsc06219
lil esquire rtf Dsc06221
well she came with a 1960's with a os max-s 35 motor without muffler, i replaced that motor with my 1988 os 25fp for 3 main reasons
First, it has greater compression
Second, it has a muffler which i will deffinetly need because im going to be flying the plane at the soccer feilds by my house
Third, the 25fp looks cooler that the max-s 35
i weighed the plane last night with out battery or fuel and she came in at 2lbs 14.5oz. I think this is a do-able weight for a 25 size motor Very Happy
im going to maiden her today, all servos are installed, throws and linkages are perfect and its almost 80 degrees farenheit without wind today Very Happy maiden flight report to come later
and thanks again guys for helping me identify this model aircraft Very Happy

Yo ! Great little plane ! But you might want to make sure that area around your fuel tank is totally sealed up, or she'll come down with a case of "Oil Cancer" up in the front end !

Mitch,

I have a larger Tatone muffler that came with an older .10 OS and it's way too big for the .10

If you can measure the bolt spacing and a rough opening size I can check to see if it will work for you. It's a shot in the dark but, who knows.

wait do you mean to measure the spacing on the max-s 35 or the 25fp?
the 25 spacing for the muffler mount screws is,37-38/16ths

Center of gravity before flight is not hard to measure and adjust. This and will yield great success if you always balance and plan for CoG to be between 33%~40% of the wing chord depending on how long your tail moment is.....long tail more aft, short tail more forward

A “Square” airframe is 25 inches wing width and 25 inches long fuselage

Assuming constant 5 inch wing width (chord) 33% is around 1 5/8th inches back from the leading edge
The plane should balance CoG somewhere between 1 9/16” and 1 11/16”
