TD tach race 2012 (Engines on the way home)
Ok time to nail this down. The tach race will be on the 9th of November with a flop date of the 10th.
I would like to have all the submissions in by the 6th of November but will accept an entry even up to the day of the event.
The rules are simple. All TD's from .010 thru .15 will be accepted. Each displacement will have their own class both stock and modified.
I will need at a minimum 3 entries in each class to make a viable race.
The fuel will be Sig 25%
Props will be:
.15- 8x4 Cox comp
.09- 7x4 Cox Comp
.049/.051- Grey 5x3 Cox competition prop
.020- Grey Cox competition 4.5x2
.010- Grey 3x 1.25 Cox Grey competition.
Stock class- Only polishing and lapping allowed. No head, crank, cylinder, venturi work etc. Aluminum carb bodies are acceptable. Basically the best you can make your engine run with only stock unmodified parts.
Unlimited- Use your imagination! No rules..... Except you can't alter displacement.
All entries must be sent with sufficient return postage. There you have it! If you guys have any questions or concerns please voice them so we have time to come to an agreement before the race.
So knock the dust off those TD's and let's have us a race!!!!!!!

I have a Cox Grey 8x4 I can provide for the TD 15 and I believe I have a Cox Grey 7x4 for the TD 09.

Sure, I selected the 7x3.5 for the .09 as that is what supposedly it runs best with. The 7x4 is what is in the instruction manual for the .15 with RPM's around the 18-19K mark.
I'll run anything you guys wish to run as long as we are all in agreement. Silence will be taken as a "yes"

The only deadline is to get it there by race day, right? I don't even know what I'm sending yet.cribbs74 wrote:mitchg95 wrote:can i enter my .010 or is it to late?

I spoke to Ron about providing a hot Tornado 5-3 prop that Kim gave me to the cause. He wanted me to run it past you all to see if anyone had any objections.

Does everybody have a Tornado 5x3 to test their engines with? The Cox grey 5x3 are readily available.

I don't have one. They seem to be rather rare and pricey.
