Re: Trade starter for "slot machine"
I have used the heck out of my GP slot machine, and still do. I ended up measuring and cutting down a set of the CA hinge slotter blades to be able to make a very narrow slot for the small style of pinned hinges.
In conjunction with the GP Slot machine, I use this little tool to center line the full length of TE stock for hinge placement. I think the trickiest part is getting a good centerline.

Using both, it makes very quick work of hinging.

Re: Trade starter for "slot machine"
Dave, would this slotter work in wood such as bass? I'm looking for clean cuts approx the size of the large heavy duty nylon barrel hinge that Dubro sells. Ken

Re: Trade starter for "slot machine"
I can't speak for Dave, but I've never tried mine on labled Bass wood, but those big hinge blades are thick and sharp Ken.
I did practice on some popsicle sticks before doing any hing slotting, and I think those are a bass wood. Cut thru with ease with the thin CA blades that i modified.
Those big blades cut a big slot in the wood, almost to big. I like the wood to grab a little tighter on the hinge plastic than what I was seeing. the hinge would basically fall out of the wood once it was cut with the big blades.
Just using a single blade doesent work so well, you have to use both blades in conjunction.

Thank you for that info. I may just forego my original idea and do something different as I cautioned exactly what you stated. Ken

Re: Trade starter for "slot machine"
Guys:
In my quest to get a "slot machine" I have two items to sell/trade beside the 12V starter. The items were given me by people that have gotten out of the hobby or from their estates by their heirs.
- Great Planes Accu-point Laser incidence meter in box only lightly used.
- Top-Flite precision Magnestic Prop Balancer in box only lightly used.
None of these items are of particular use to me and I have no hesistation to sell/trade them to get items that I DO need. Of interest to me would be the tools needed to apply heat-shrink synthetic coverings: sealing iron w/sock, heat gun, etc.
All offers/trades considered.
Thank you,

Re: Trade starter for "slot machine"
The 12V model engine starter is as still available and I'm still interested in a Great Planes "Slot Machine". I also have a Great Planes Lazer Incidence Meter for trade/sale.
All trades/offers considered.
Thanks,

Re: Trade starter for "slot machine"
LOL I thought you were talking about a "One Armed Bandit" hahaha.
Re: Trade starter for "slot machine"
12V starter w/gel cell battery still available. (Too big for 1/2A use). Works fine.
(This is possibly a Sullivan Hi-Tork starter but can't say for sure because it shows no name on the housing)
Make me a reasonable offer by PM.
