TD 010 Crankshaft.

TD 010 Crankshaft.
Guess whose just broken off the piston drive spiggot on my TD 010. Being a mechanical engineer I thought I'd have no problems. I know it's going to be difficult to get one, any ideas?

Re: TD 010 Crankshaft.
Center punch, drill, tap, locktite, pray...
or
Center punch, drill, ream (or not) and press/shrink fit the new stud from hardened rod...
use a hardened bolt that is cut down as the new part, good luck finding a truly hardened bolt in these sizes though. small diameter drill rod is much easier to get. I have a whole index full.
Not that much to loose by trying.

Sadly some of the crankshank flange chipped away with the spiggot. so I would have to reposition the spiggot by 90 degrees. Would that matter?

Re: TD 010 Crankshaft.
You're the engineer...
Unless you source another crank I guess it is what you have. Is this a reedy? Is the crank web a disk or is is relieved for balancing? I don't have an 010.
If you change the location and the intake is through the crank then you will make it a reverse runner.

Re: TD 010 Crankshaft.
The .010 are TD style only, i.e. the intake is in the crank. The crank pin has to be where it was, unless you convert it to a counter rotating crank. Even then I believe that the rotation should only be about 90° from where it was (Enya 09 engines have this feature where you rotate the intake in the crankcase).

Thanks, replacement crank it is. Oh well, that puts the Lil Stingray on hold.

A replacement crank will be hard to find.
Please post a picture of the damage and broken bits (if you could find them all). It may still be repairable.
