Crumby Day for Flying--Good Day for Shop Time !!!!

Decided to use my cold, windy, Monday Day-Off to do a little hardware upgrade to my Jetco Shark 15. Namely, installing fibre-lock jam-nuts to the backside of the engine bolts. It's been a while since the bolts loosened themselves, but with a fresh package of hardware from Micro Fasteners laying on the table, I figured on being a bit grown-up and doing a little preemptive stuff.





While I had the thing out and vulnerable, I also decided to load some lead in it's butt to see if I can get it to turn a bit sharper next time out. Loops and wingovers and such were just fine, but I wasn't very confident about my vertical eights. Of course, the extra nose weight and speed from having an Enya .19 being parked where a Fox .15 was meant to go did not exactly help things in the cornering department.



I know...it's a hideous lead wart!....but if the Shark likes it's new CG, I'll melt down the equivalent of my "Button Ballast" into a nice strip to be hidden under the inboard elevator fairing.

I've also got a beautiful new-in-box Veco aluminum spinner that was slated for this plane, but STILL haven't had the heart to grind it out to fit the M.A. prop's blades. Crap...am I becoming a .............."Collector" ?????!!!!!!!!
