It looks like something you would find inside the box of one of the later ARF kits.

Yes, a lot of the late 80's/early 90's had them like this. The Fairchild 24 comes to mind.

Looked closely with my magnifer and the packaging reads : "Cox .049
Ranger 5 engine".

"Ranger 5"? What's that?

Just another Coxie - almost identical to the Dragonfly. Used in a few RC models. Check Martin Hepperle's site for more details.
