Re: North to Alaska!
Sounds like a great place to vacation. I think I'd like to go in the middle of the Summer when it's 100 degrees here. I used to enjoy talking with an Alaskan modeler at RCG. Haven't seen him around lately. Rusty Gunn, from Kotzebue, I believe. I used to see them fly to and from there on the TV show, Flying Wild Alaska.
Have a great time.

Re: North to Alaska!
Thank you for the several good wishes.
It is often said: "When you visit Alaska you never truely return home." One can never see it all but it's nice to try.
Our first trip was in 1980 when we drove our Ford 4X4 truck and camper. We were gone nearly the entire summer covering slightly over 6K miles having FIVE tires destroyed in the process.

Duke: Alaska fishing trips are WAY beyond our travel budget. Big $$$$ they are.

SD-Sorry to here that, there's great fishing there. Although we have some great fishing here, also. If your on a cruise ship, just throw a line over board.
I do know there some great fishing around the docks.

Duke:
There's great fishing here in WA too.
Last year our son got a 130 pound halibut up near Whibey Island and tht's not even a Washington state record for sport caught halibut.
Son has also done well on yellow-fin tuna off the Washington State Pacific Coast several months ago.
The secret to catching fish is actually going fishing rather than just talking about it.

As I said above, we love the fishing her in the Pacific NW. After the Regionals this weekend, we will be gearing up for the GREAT humppie run. We get millions of them in odd years. We plan on stocking up tons of canned salmon for the year. The boys and I would love to take you with us this summer. My brother-in-law just sent me pictures of the King salmon he's been cauthing this weekend. I'll have to hook up with him one night this week.
