Dethermal Timers
i know its not cox related but since i started with the g/kidds in free flight the subject of timers arises. how many different brands of timers is there and how effective are they and if any one has ant they can do with out im looking for at lesst two perhaps three depending on there functions...an if i can figger out how i can post a pic of the latest creation wich started out in the 70's as a rubber pwrd free flighter of some 30 inches but now sports a lil wen-mac

Texas Timers .020 works great. They can be rigged for quick DT. I use them on my 1/2A planes. If you buy one, be sure to get some of his silicone tubing.

i have two fuel timers ...one K.S.B cut off timer 30 sec job an outher is tatone tick off but its not fuel that is required but rear stab that i wana trigger

Maybe the Sting Aero Smoothie viscous timer would be sufficient.

I always remember a KSB timer being 30 shillings (£1.50/$2.25) - about the same price as an 049 engine.
We used to use rubber bands and string.
Light the string, blow out the flame and then let it slow burn. When it reached the rubber band, it melted and the tail popped up - pulled by another rubber band.
This was known as a DT fuse!

thanks Ian but im famular with DT fuses an suffel tubes...im more interested in finding out about differsnt brands an styles of mech timers

yeah Ian i have exactly the same timer b ut the box for mine is gold an yours timer is in better shape than mine (mine is much used)
