Cloned High Compression Glow Head
Anyone remember these from a few years back? Sold on eBay as Bruce Duncan cloned heads around 2006.

I don't know. These were sold in the day where the original #1702 TD heads were very scarce. I did like these cloned heads, they did work but I would rather use a real #1702 head. I remember talking to that Bruce Duncan a few years ago and he did say they were made to order in a min amount of 1000 pcs from CS Engines in Asia. I never made the attempt to contact CS Engines but apparently the heads were dirt cheap to order.

Re: Cloned High Compression Glow Head
K&B has some good high compression heads. http://www.mecoa.com/cox/index.htm I think they are sold out right now but they should be in stock soon. I know that K&B has been working on .010, .020, .09, .15... heads for awhile.

Re: Cloned High Compression Glow Head
i do remember those. the guy had like 5000 of them and sold all of them in a 3 month span. I remember reading about it on rcu. he didnt order them again because they were a huge hassle to package and ship the mass amount of orders

Yes, the heads are ones that Bruce Duncan from Vancouver had made in China.
Bruce put us into contact with the manufacturer a few years ago and they have made various parts for us including TD glow heads; whereas we supplied all the OEM Cox parts (except the filament) and they pressed them and staked the filament they sourced.

No idea lol. I just met him once when he showed up at our office with several impressively made Venom clones (from China).

Re: Cloned High Compression Glow Head
We purchased the remaining Cox inventory, including over 35,000 engines. We originally received about 1,000 complete Tee Dee heads and enough parts to make a few thousand more. When we run out of parts we will simply make new parts since we have the Cox drawings.
We already made the 020 heads from scratch - no problem

No, no tooling here. We are strictly e-commerce distributors.
We have manufactured something like 80 different parts so far but are having the manufacturing and moulding done through machine shops, moulders, laser shops, etc.

Re: Cloned High Compression Glow Head
Ok Bernie,
I was only wondering because there is a man who lives in Canada call Adrian Duncan and he is quite well known (or at least his name pops up a lot) In vintage engine discussions and I saw his name on the box of a Valentine blitz 0.05cc (0.003 cu in) diesel engine.

A little off topic, but one of the things that gets lost first on the older Cox engines with the threaded shaft is the Acorn nut used as a prop nut. Many of these were replaced with a standard nut. I had three Space Bug Juniors and a Thermal Hopper that were missing these Acorn nuts. Bernie to the rescue! He not only has replacements, but they come with a threaded shaft so they can also be used on more modern Cox engines.
