"Suspicious Activity" on the Forum
Yo Guys,
On several of my attempts to log onto the Forum, I've gotten a pop-up card directing me to this page. I have not logged into it for fear of it being a trick. This has only happened with the CEF site. After restarting my computer, I'm allowed (so far) to log in normally.
Anybody else seen this?

Never saw that before, good to ignore it. Sometimes clearing all temp. internet files and reboot helps.
Ebay was recently hacked and Rustys advice to use a CC is good but there is more to it than that.
The hackers got your full name, phone number, physical address, email address and password. Also after a set dollar amount of business with Pay Pal
they require you to link to your bank account, even though you use a CC, they call it "verified".
My current email address had no spam because I was very careful how it was used, now I am getting spam like this.
PayPal would never send this.
Its a jungle out there.

I haven't seen it but my Adblock Plus could be squashing it. It's pretty good at blocking popups. I rarely ever see one. I even have to custom disable it to allow wanted interactions to pop up on some sites.

I have never seen that before and I'm sure its probably a scam.
Re: "Suspicious Activity" on the Forum
Kim, I downloaded a free... model plan recently.. and wasn't careful about "unchecking" a box that allowed a bunch of extra CRAP to infiltrate my browser and hard drive. I had to reset my browser to finally get rid of it. It was an "RRsavings" (.com) package... and caused me a LOT of grief until I was able to get rid of it.

Re: "Suspicious Activity" on the Forum
Moving pop-up ads are really annoying. Moving login boxes are more so...oh wait that's normal here (and a PIA on my phone).
I seem to get funny stuff from time to time, especially when I am hopping devices, such as to upload pictures from my phone, and using the desktop (Win 8.1) and the 6yo mac book... Does the ad-service provider track by login? I've gotten the android ads on the other two devices in the past so I think they do.
Phil

Only log in here https://www.coxengineforum.com/login
Don't click on ads, I have the ads disabled for members so the only time you should see ads is if you are not logged in. I don't choose the ads that are displayed nor do I make any money off them. Never enter your password into anything other than on the login page. I or no other member should ask for you password. I don't have access to members passwords so I can't see what your passwords are, I can only reset them to something different.
