Pretty interesting. Is the support shelf for a drop-on muffler bracket molded to the case... and you just cap off one exhaust port for a single muffler?
What about "A/C", is that the same as ABC?
Hey, it says "British and Best," not that it matters.

Very nice Ian! I notice what appears to be a belt-start capable drive-plate? Were these used in model boats too? Easy enough to invert the muffler by the looks of it. Would a muffler on a diesel inhibit starting? I wasn't sure if an exhaust-prime was standard starting procedure?

Hi Leven,
The Blue Pants was my first stunt model and I won a school build competition with it. I toy with the idea of building another - it was the first that I had built from a plan but it was a little heavy. I used an Enya 15 in it but the compulsory addition of a silencer did no good. Eventually a PAW 15 sorted it and eventually the club engine - the PAW 19.
I do find it strange that this was used as a stunt model as it was primarily used in my model club as a trainer for combat. The other members models could be described as fast and agile - no ailerons or sedate flying.

It means air cooled - ED produced marine equivalents.

I thought I would gild the lily! It is probably not politically correct to say that any more. It certainly isn't true any more.

All ED engines were available in marine versions. The flywheel was much larger than the air cooled version but there was still room to reverse the silencers.
Exhaust prime is the easiest way to set up a diesel and get the initial settings right. Once you are in the ball park finger choke is the way to go.
I wouldn't fancy trying to start one of these with a piece of string though.

My very meagre engine collection consists of not one, single solitary marine engine.
I searched goggle for that picture.
Any that I get - usually from a job lot - I swap out very quickly. I know a chap who only collects marine engines.
