Forum Logo?
I was just printing and cutting out a few decals to stick on my newly-painted field box when an idea occured to me. How about a Cox Engines Forum logo/decal? Then we could all proudly display our membership of this august body, and perhaps spread the word to more would-be members!
I'm sure one of our multi-talented members could come up with a design acceptable to all, or, if more than one design were offered, we could hold an "Engine of the month"-type vote to decide.
What do you all think, good idea, or "Forget it, Stupid!"?

Re: Forum Logo?
actually, I have a few forum logos somewhere on my computer. One was was used in printing up notepads and another was to be used for a t-shirt design.
Here is a PREVIEW of it. It was originally really light so when it was printed on notepad, it would just show up a little in the background. I just took a quick screen shot of it and made it darker. I would need to tweak it a little to bring back its detail.

Re: Forum Logo?
here's a tip.
you should do a color reverse, so the engine itself is white. then turn it into a vector image, so we can scale it up to match a t-shirt. and if we would use a vector, it wouldnt have a white or black background, so only the engine itself will be printed on there, no nasty white square surrounding it. I think photoshop has an option to vector images, or you could ask someone on deviantart to do it for ya!
just an idea, you know

Re: Forum Logo?
If the T-shirt idea comes to fruition I recommnd that they be printed on T-shirts OTHER than white. (White gets dirty too easily).
As to the shirts themselves, they'd best be done on good quality shirts and not the cheapest that can fe found. Sizing should range to include 2X Large for those of us with "ample" waist lines.

Good idea. This is just a quickly edited snapshot. I have the original somewhere without the white background.

Colors wouldn't be an issue nor would sizing. I have the means to do silkscreen or iron on logo so you could use whatever shirt you want. However, the silkscreen would be the most durable and could withstand multiple washings.
I think a white T-shirt with multiple stains on it would be fitting in this case......

Re: Forum Logo?
I'd do away with "THE" and flatten out the "Cox Engine Forum" and keep it black. The beautiful artwork just says it all to me.

I'll try to get on that.
Re: Forum Logo?
I think we need to loose the "THE" above the glow head. It somehow looks weird and doesn't seem necessary. Otherwise, I think It's great!

Re: Forum Logo?
i'd even go simpler and just put CECF under the engine. like in a bold, worn out-style font, like on an old fighter plane.daviddiag wrote:I think we need to loose the "THE" above the glow head. It somehow looks weird and doesn't seem necessary. Otherwise, I think It's great!

My original idea was to perhaps get non-members to join us, they would have no idea what "CECF" or any other initials meant

Re: Forum Logo?
i doubt someone on the street is gonna say: "WOAH! what's that cool dude got on his t-shirt? COX engine forum?
i will immediatly google it and will not associate the word with any immature pronounciation of a certain body part!"
you gotta admit its a very special hobby

I was being perhaps a little too simplistic , I should have said "Cox enthusiasts who have not yet joined us"
T-Shirts have come in since my original idea for a decal!
