new names for Cox engines
A while back.. Cox International was looking for name-suggestions for a custom-configured/custom-anodized engine. I thought of a couple while looking at the custom 8cc tanked "Wasp" reed-valve engine that Cox International donated for this year's CEF Tach-Race.
"Yellow-Jacket" came to mind.. and also "Dirt-Dauber".. "Horse-Fly".. "Green-Head".. "Hornet".. and maybe even "Humming-Bird"..
The name would coincide with the anodized color(s).. and be offered as collectible/limited-production engines.
The "Yellow-Jacket" might be offered as a reed-valve engine with a black "horseshoe" backplate.. and bright-yellow-anodized case and insert-style head. The "Dirt-Dauber".. (a mud-wasp..) could utilize a dark-blue and black theme.. A "Green-Head" or "Horse-Fly" a combination of black, green and yellow.
They could be offered in "S" and "HP" (stock and high-performance) variations.. to suit the market.
This wouldn't require any new tooling.. only some custom anodizing of "in-stock" parts.
I'd buy one.. or two..
