Re: Jim Walker Firebaby and Firebaby Clone
Thanks all.
Eric I used Krylon for the fuselage and wing, Top Flight black for the trim.
Interesting that the Top Flight (dope) ate the foam (see the rudder) while the Krylon didn't.
I stole roddies idea and used a cut safety pin as the control rod guide mid fuselage and couldn't resist adding some decals.
Curious, I had to use the keeper on the Great Planes control horn upside down as the cast flat resulted in an angled base. Never saw that before.
Next one I do will have bass wood or ply doublers for the engines mount. Too easy to squeeze the foam without them.

Another little trick I have used in the past with foamboard, is after cutting out to shape, use a thin layer of white glue to seal the foam and edges of the outside 'cardboard'. This is just to prevent the fuel from getting between the two surfaces and help start the peeling process.

That is strange about the paint , guess it just don't like Dope , and the horn never used one of GP horns .. Yes the safety pins push rod stabilizer is easy to use , but as Roddie used them for lead out's i don't think i would do that myself But i didn't tell him that
