The buyer was a mad man!
Some of the vintage sparkers and glow engines I see make me gag!

I believe they are quite rare, probably because everyone threw them away!

But the ED penny slot eeeeeek!
I used to have one of those, (ED penny slot) back when people would give them to you to get rid of them, ran like cr*p, just about chugged over, and screwing the whole cylinder head up and down to alter compression was downright weird, and I never understood why anyone would make a 2cc, although I suppose 2.5 & 3.5 were strange capacities anyway when you think about it!

Re: Ugliest Model Engines?
You think that's odd!
Who would make a 0.16 cc oh wait cox did.
There are some seriously odd displacements I believe John Valentine made a 0.118 cc and valentine make 0.098cc engines and loads of other wierd to us sizes.

Ah, I know that one, it's a little-known Cox engine called the "Scruffy Silver Bee"

HEY! (Show a little respect for where progress began)
Those engine aren't UGLY so much as they are "evolutionary" steps to modern engines.
Would you call the 1903 Wright Brothers powered aircraft "ugly"?

Ugly perhaps, but check out the cool "Fighter Canopy" they gave the pilot !!! If he just stared straight ahead. he MIGHT be able to imagine himself in a "Tempest" or some such...
