Cox T-6 Texan bomb drop value?
Hi Folks,
I was given a black Cox T-6 Texan bomb drop version a few years ago, and it's still new in the box. All parts and paper work are there, as is the target and 3 bombs. Nothing is broken, or damaged in any way. Includes a new Cox Sure Start .049 already mounted.
The previous owner strung the Dacron flying lines and bomb release line, but it's obvious the engine has never been started, or the T-6 flown. The parts are all there, but the the plastic cover that I've seen in these boxes to hold parts in place is long gone.
Curious about the value of these, but don't want to part with it at this time.
Anyone seen auction prices on this version?
I think the Red T-6 is much more in demand, and if the landing gear is better built they might even fly well enough.
Thanks for any info.
Bill

Re: Cox T-6 Texan bomb drop value?
Bill,
You are generally around $100 for these new in box (or close to it). Have see some go as much as $250 but this is more of an anomaly in my opinion. If you ever were to sell it, especially on eBay, I would suggest listing around $150 with a best offer option / free shipping so there is a little room to negotiate to market value. Regular Texan pulls a little more since most think of it as "Pre-Estes".

Thanks Eric, and Matt,
Now I know not to part with this one, or leave it for the family - to feed to the dumpster!
How Cox ever expected the landing gear to survive a real landing is beyond me?
