Ok, so you failed the sobriety test
No, honestly, really well done. The spinning around will get easier.
I could see you just begging for the fuel to run out

Reminds me of me at age 5 twirling a June Bug on the end of a piece of granny's twine.

Great job. Thanks for sharing the video. Also sorry to hear you had a crack up, but I am sure you will fix it up to fly again.

Great flights! Even better, you landed in one piece. Congratulations! You are deserving of your Cox Wings!

Good job Jeff !! I like the high arm of the first flight . The plane flies better than I thought it would , good job .

Re: Cox Fokker D-7 Flights
Thanks everybody. I have some plans to slow things down. Longer lines and a streamer. Planning for spring.

Re: Cox Fokker D-7 Flights
I don't think the Fokker can handle any streamers or longer lines. It can only barely "fly" as you tested it; any more drag without an increase in power will do it in. Clean the plane up and display it and remember the old box art maxim from back in the day--"Balsa Flies Better".

Also, I think the front end of the Fokker's engine really came from a Golden Bee. You might consider switching it out to a Sure Start silver front end with the correct spring starter assembly. Then be on the look out for a Golden Bee back end.

Re: Cox Fokker D-7 Flights
Yes the gold crank case from the crashed Fokker is from a super stunt engine. I still have the big stunt tank in the spares box. luckily it seems undamaged. Will get a new backplate assembly and go into my recalcitrant Sopwith. It was running well before the crash. Everything that came with the eBay air force is gummed up and I have been cleaning engines and moving stuff around to get them flying.
I would like to run sure starts in the dogfighters but there are problems with that. First, the sure starts have the hex drive plate and require a snap starter with the plastic ring behind the prop. Unfortunately the LH dogfighter prop hub is too small to retain the snap starter ring securely. Also, the larger diameter of the snap starter interferes with the cowlings on the Fokker ships. It could work on a Sopwith with a different LH prop with a lager hub area.
So my early efforts use Baby Bee style engines from my collection that are free and get a rebuild. And I use the LH no drag spring starter. I have an electric starter but I haven't felt the need to use it yet. I haven't even unpacked and set up.
Project shut down for the holidays. Will be back to the workbench in January. I find it ironic I have to put my toys away for Xmas.
