Landing Gear or Protection Skid

Gents
Looking for some suggestions. Due to Corona have been unable to get to my normal flying field. Usually my wife will hand launch my Dewey Skyray planes and I land softly on the grass. However for a few weeks will need to fly on an asphalt surface. I will still hand launch as it rocks. However for the landing into the concrete road. What skid or wheel or other bumper could be fitted to the underside of the front to avoid any bruises on the road surface. When I get back to the grass I would remove it. I have numerous plastic wheels. Also have a bit of wire but prefer not to have full landing gear.

What might be a good solution in the interm?

y have umx beast wit landing gear witch can be remove cliped in place very light used on my guilow edge 540 rc converted y use lot of eflite umx part to my model as3x is turning litle plane control like mutch biger and wind not afect plane as mutch for it to work best need big control surface wit lot trust y like landing on tall grass wit light model 450 size max on grass wit power to hoover just befor land y catch .049 stal model wit my hands some time no ground at al

Could you kindly attach a picture of the clip on gear. Sounds exactly what I'm interested in. I was thinking too. With glides don't they have a single front wheel? Could that be what is clipped on and off? With a saddle arrangement and a pin or zip tie to secure when needed? Please include a picture of on and removed landing gear you use David.

y wil get pic to morow fo you my son niko sleep now.part its fix in plastic part it can easly fit in two pice wood wit slot u just pres in yes its can use front stering to wil try find part number to my is from umx beast wit as3x it has nice weal pant to wit claws like design part no eflu 4055 from horizon hobby

u may nead litle biger weel pic of plane wil help to size part is control ling wit 049 it may be to small for it my wil fit on .020 rc guilow very light weight set up

Hi Darren,

I would simply stick a few layers of adhesive tape to the bottom of the fuselage and the underside of wingtips. You can replace the layers after a few landings. And remember to set the prop so as to stay horizontal - i.e. blown by the headwind to stop just at the beginning of the compression cycle - when the engine stops and the plane lands.

Maybe too simplistic but should work on a relatively smooth asphalt or concrete pavement.

Both are helpful.

I think because my flying surface is perfectly flat..... and perfectly concrete the idea of stick on landing gear should work well. I will in addition "ring" the gear with a thin zip tie around the fuselage too just to give it the clear message to stay on until the tie is removed later when I can get back on the grass.
