Ok, show your collectable glow fuel cans

My humble collection:

Anchored by that little 1/4 pint Andras. Cute little thing. Probably was included with one of their models, but I can't think which one.

I like that lil 1/4 pint thing, I found it on ebay and could not stop myself bidding until I won. I think it was for intro purposes by COX traveling salesemen.

Yes, I got on ebay looking for one with no luck.  Probably quite rare.  I think you found the needle in the haystack.  

The Cox "Super Power Fuel" can shown is vacuum compressed.  Was thinking of ways to get it back to proper shape.  Heat it and compressed air through the plastic straw  insert maybe.

I was amazed at some of the asking prices for these.

Was just fishing among the invoices in my old ebay orders but could not find it yet. I figure it cost near 30 $ plus shipping, i.e. at least near double the price of the 1 pint cans.

This is all I have...but they're all full,unopened cans! . In fact it's the ONLY fuel I have!  The blue can has a $1.10  price tag on top!

is super power fuel was diferent of timble drome fuel ? on the litle 1/4 its say custom blend is it posible cox started seling power fuel that way for try of diferent blend ??? first y se of my 20 years in the hobby nice litle cans u have found the only 1 y have is not show wil get pic of its box and the cans it self y use it for long time it seal tight is wat y use for my storage box wit my a6m5 zero

David, Cox made different fuels in different fuel cans: Glow, Glow Power, Super Power, Flight Power, Racing and Custom Blend.

1/4 pint fuel can is included in P51 model.

Yeah, I had to re create the wheel as the cloud musta ate my others pictures.
I think the best one is the little round Cox fuel can, although the 1/2A NITROTANE 70% is power full, but not Cox!
Some in the garage, some in the basement. Probably have others in a box under a box stashed on a shelf somewhere.

Marleysky, I see something on one of your cans of Cox Racing fuel. It says "This is it". My memory is fading a bit here but was that your label and fuel can? I ask this because I think that was a fuel made by Franny Wolf. Franny was legendary in tether car racing. Franny was a amazing machinist and engine chromer that if your were anybody in the hobby in the 50's-60's you went to Fran. I believe he produced "This is it" fuel and "Panther Pizz". He had a additional fuel as well. I met Fran when he was in his 90's. I have a decal which was a Wolf which was his trademark.

Ken and Levent I have to say you guys are on top of things.  I completely missed the label and had to enlarge the picture to see it. An interesting sidebar to the glow fuel story. I used that have one of those old label makers.

I'm glad I started this thread, it garnered more interest than I ever thought it would and I enjoyed the pictures.  Thanks to everyone for contributing.

Levent, that's a great find. That's the decal I have. It was gifted to me from a friend who's owned it for more than 50 years. Bob Dymo was the company that used to make those labelers. My dad made the injection molds for those labelers at one time. He had a very large one. It reminded me of the Star Trek USS Enterprise due to it's shape and looks. Big flat disc up high and the handle . I remember he had all kinds of tapes. I haven't seen them used in years and they were really helpful . Obviously , too simple because I haven't seen them used in nearly 30 years.

Could very well be made by Franny. it's about the right age. I purchased a "Lot" of Fuel cans and Cox engines from the Son of the original owner, who lived in Southfield, near Detroit. His Dad was a race car hobbyist. He also had a number of Brown Glass Pharmacy type bottles with home blended fuels in them. They also had the Label tape Label on them for nitro %.  He said when they had to win they used the "THIS IS IT" fuel, and labeled it so not to get mixed up with the other cox fuel cans. it's about 1/3 full, I might have to try a tank full on a TD and see if it picks up a few 100 RPM or two! Cool Decal !

Give me a day or two to get some pics and I'll show you some cans that I bet no non-Aussie has seen

Aero Flyte Super Blast?

You have to love the names. I think the colors, the wording, it meant a lot to us. I mean think about Fox fuel, Missile Mist, how original and it was the deepest purple color. How cool was that. It ruined my shoes, my mom was hot and I got yelled at for nearly 15 minutes.

Ken, it is an interesting story. I had a Dymo labeler and it is very useful before computer age. Other make of labels was to use rub-on letter sheets for video cassettes, document files etc. at the time. It has chromed parts and really look alike Star Trek Enterprise ship Dymo labels still are my favorite labeling, because they are weather proof. I think that it is an American icon. Today they are selling same labelers in different design. Now I want to buy a new Dymo Omega.

My Dad had one.

After he retired he had two passions, Playing golf and making labels with the thing.  He labeled everything.  I have his "Hole-in-One" trophy here in my den and were I to go though the many unpacked boxes from our Florida move I would probably find it.  

And yes, I would agree, looks like the Star Trek space ship.

And to take this thread (my thread) way out into left field, for about the fourth time I watched Kubrick's "2001 A Space Odyssey" last night on TCM and just finished Wiki's discussion of the film. Exciting pre sophisticated computer generated graphics but boring to tears I suffered through it again only breaking away every now and then to ensure the real world was still in existence. Still, it remains an icon and one I tend to revisit.
