to tell you the truth I don't know how it works? It's a sealed unit. its called a 1/2A super pumper. it comes in different sizes and is factory calibrated.The engine is all new and I have not test run it yet.
I have blown through it and it does not allow flow back to the tank or pressure nipple. it is one direction only toward the carb.

I think it has the check valve before the crank case pressure.
So, this how I think it works.
You use pressure from the muffler to pressurize the fuel tank and pushes it to the needle valve.
The crank case pressurizes the fuel from the crank case,
but with the check valve before the crank case pressure it can't back feed the fuel back to the tank.

It's similar to my plumbing system with a toilet and a sump pump.
Flush the toilet water goes down to the basement but,
with the check valve at the sump pump that water doesn't go into the sump pump well.
So, If the sump pump turns on, that water along with the toilet water both get injected to the holding tank outside.

You may be correct.
The first thing I thought of is, ball check valve. so I shook it. nothing no rattle?
maybe it has a light spring in it to keep it in check?
here are the instructions. may give more info on it.

I have read on RC forum that it is in fact a diaphragm which pulls fuel in the fuel line from the tank when the crankcase is under vacuum, and - probably - does not reverse when the crankcase is pressurized, so it pulls the fuel from the tank but a check valve inside does not allow it to pull fuel from the direction of the carb...RC forum says the product was not as successful as originally anticipated so it dropped from the product line of Robart Manufacturing (??)

Well, it would be good to see that motor running with that accessory and thus draw conclusions.
I have seen many accessories that were not positive and others worked very well. I have used the Perry pump on an OS .91 FX, with excellent results .... but it exists of everything and with different results!

I think I'm going to give the super pumper a whirl on my new 051. I like the short fuel lines over the muffler/fuel tank types and we'll see how it goes. I like the fact you can control the fuel volume/pressure by just turning the knurled side nipple in or out.


Brad I luv your engine with the custom carb body.just wondering is that an  O.S. #14 fuel nipple your using on the carb? also can we get those aluminum engine mounts? or are they custom also.
