While commenting on a post over on Stunthangar, I suddenly realized that in all the years I've been playing with Testors engines, I've never played with compression.  Testors engines have an aluminum glow head gasket that is the same thickness as five Cox copper glow head gaskets.  Why have I never run a Testors engine with Cox copper gaskets, and removed them one by one to see what the change in compression does for the Testors engine?

I don't think they fit the diameter. Also, some Testors heads never used a gasket. There are three versions I believe. One with no gasket, but a ridge machined in the sealing face, the thick Alloy gasket you mentioned, and I think, a thin copper gasket. Mark Boesen's probably got pictures in his archives.

Rod, the Cox gasket is just a hair thinner than the gaskets used in the Testors and the late Wen-Macs. But I have no doubt that I will be able to get a good seal with the copper gaskets.

Wow! That’s great Mark. I never even thought to even try to fit a Testors/AMF/WnnMac with a Cox copper gasket! I know some of the OEM Testors have aluminum gasket, and others don’t. Let us know how they run with lower compression but better sealed heads!
lol!
