Spectreflight carries a test report on the .20:
http://www.sceptreflight.com/Model%20Engine%20Tests/Irvine%2020%20ABC%20Diesel.html
The way I see the diesel and glow heads maybe interchangeable at least on the .20

Re: Nead info on diesel engine irvine .40 and other stuf
K&B Torpedo .40 is practically indestructible. It's a Dykes ringed engine and many times the ring can get stuck. I use 50/50 castor synthetic to avoid that problem. Old school engine with plenty of power. The rear rotor version is a pretty hot engine and stronger yet as the crankshaft is solid.

Plus pretty much everything is still available for the Torp .40. The Dykes ring is pretty disconcerting. You turn the engine over and you think is has no compression, but give it a hard flick or hit it with a starter and they start & run great

Re: Nead info on diesel engine irvine .40 and other stuf
Have you used model diesel fuel before David? The biggest issue is going to be getting hold of some ether. If you can't find any, try your nearest John Deere dealer. They apparently have starting fluid which is almost straight ether. Other than that it's just kerosene and castor oil. equal parts.

The Webra is a Mach II. It's not easily converted to glow.

I think the Irvine 40 diesel was based on the Q40 glow. Some research on RCU should turn up the details.
Either would sell pretty quick if you didn't want them.

Re: Nead info on diesel engine irvine .40 and other stuf
Deere is the only starting ether that is virtually all ether. Others will contain as little as 30% ether with the balance heptane. You end up with much lass ether than you expect making for difficult to impossible starts.

The Webra is a strong running engine . It is 2.5 cc ( .15 cu. inches ) and was used for F.A.I. events like free flight , team racing and combat . It would be a sin to try and convert it to glow and is worth more as a diesel . I would like to have it if you want to sell or trade it .
