What wrench does this thing take to tighten the head? Was fitting it to plane last night and found out it was just finger tight!.....and I have come to the conclusion I have NO Cox tools!Non stock TD .049 tools 20201212

You want the Cox wrench that goes around the head entirely. Those black ones that essentially are two hooks are a worthless POS. Throw them out because they're good for nothing but getting hurt with and damaging the engine.If you ever tried to use the screwdriver end you'll quickly know what I mean about getting hurt. The wrench I mentioned is a Cox wrench and the opposing side has the wide flats that fit the milled cylinders.

Ken...what does it look like?.....For some reason I have no cox tools. Who knows where they went 50 plus years and umpteen moves later!

They are not for different sizes.  Those are all for .049. The picture was just to show you what the wrench looks like that Ken was referring to.

The shims are someones attempt to alter timing.

You are correct Cribbs74.
Those are shims from Kustom Kraftsmanship kit to adjust the timing.

Those are shims from Kustom Kraftsmanship kit to adjust the timing.

Not so sure about that. I have a KK set and when installed are close to the exact same diameter as the cylinder. The KK set has a cup that the shims slip into. To me that looks like a homemade attempt using head gaskets.
