Wanted: Pull Starter reapir kit for a Cox Dune Buggy.

Nice to meet you Tracy! I don’t really want to know anything in particular, I was just suggesting you give folks a glimpse of your Cox engine background and what your plans are for the buggy apart from getting it operational.

My only connection to cox engines is when I got this dune buggy for Christmas years ago it was amazing what that ting could do I remember one time it rolled all the way over and kept going I had forgot about it it is in rough shape pull starter doesn’t work only occasionally will it catch the throttle is stuck the sleeve that rotates my plan is to get in working order and keep it maybe pass it on to grand children so that is why I joined hoping that people on forum could help in my project thank for your response

it is complete dune buggy in rough shape but looks good for parts

This is really odd this post re-appeared, OP is probably long gone. Just last night I was talking to a friend about the Cox dune buggy I had when I was about 10, we had a blast with that thing, especially in the snow. It taught me so much about internal combustion and how its not good to touch hot stuff. Set the turn and let it rip! We ran it hard trashed it, just like most other kids. I told my friend that if I still had it today it would be worth a lot, I havent seen one since. Also my name is Tracy, just like OP.

Had to look, NIB ebay $1200, wish my dad would have bought two and hidden one.

I'm also looking for a new cable for the recoil starter. Have searched eBay and haven't found much currently. I saw a few of y'all had some available. Are you still around?

My friend got this dune buggy new when he was 12 or so (he's 64 now) and we're cleaning out his property as his health is failing. I've never touched one of these before, though I always wanted to have one. I'm rebuilding this for him to experience one more time. I've got it shining pretty good--still waiting on some remanufactured parts to arrive. I need this starter so I can get the thing running!!!
