Help identifying more of Happydad's engines Empty Help identifying more of Happydad's engines

Post  lalakunoth Sat May 22, 2021 1:19 pm

Hope everyone has been well!! I took a break from cleaning up my dad's garage for a bit but am back at it and found another huge lot of Happydad's engines, parts and more! If anyone can help me identify these engines I would be so thankful!

Here is a link to them in my google drive.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1XyTxF-8oh8ZESKYpFoKb66lMBhrZ-WEV?usp=sharing

The last one seems to be brand new ... if it's worth keeping are there any recommendations for what plane/car it would go on?

thanks so much for your help!

Top row left to right to best of my knowledge:Old Bugger

Cox Tee Dee 020 (or 010 difficult to tell without any scale reference in the photo
020 head is about the size of a dime, 010 a bit bigger than a pencil eraser)
excellent engine! A keeper, great on free flight or micro rc

Cox Baby Bee 049 with muffler (everyone needs a dozen or more of these, great control line

Cox Medallion 049 with throttle

Cox Tee Dee 051 (groove on piston indicates it is 051 not 049) Great engine, good for RC CL or FF

Cox Tee Dee 049 (or 051 if it has groove on piston, carb body color not definitive) Same as above

Gilber 07 (missing needle valve and spray bar)

AMF Wenmac 049 (missing needle valve)

Testors product 049 (missing glow head)

Cox Medallion 049 (may be a TD with medallion carb body because of gold prop drive, Check crank opening at carb body, round is medallion square td)

Cox Bee 049 with 8cc tank and after market muffler! maybe (brand not known to me)

Second view showing after market muffler

Cox product 049 with horseshoe backplate

Cox Pee Wee 020 missing back plate

Cox Texaco 049 (great free flight engine, designed for Texaco event)

If anyone spots an error please correct me! Huh...
If they are going to eBay do I get a cut? lol! Just kidding
glad to pay kindness forward!

You’re most welcome!
Thanks but all I did was demonstrate a symptom of my
addiction to model engines. Babe Bee .049  bounce

The first engine is a .020 TD . You can tell because the drive plate and the collar behind it that holds the carb. body on are the same size on a .010 and the collar is wider on the .020 TD , Abig difference in pricing !

The engine with the after market muffler (Img_2591 and Img_2592) --- the Muffler is for an Enya .049.
Needs to be modified a little more to fit the Cox .049 engine.
Good muffler once it has been modified to fit the Cox cylinder head.
Muffler slips into the cooling fins (you have to thin the muffler down to make it fit).
Then it clamps around the cylinder head.

thanks again everyone for your help!

and yes it's for sure a .020, I found a care and operation guide which has full scale views of both the .010 and .020 and it lines up with the .020. Smile
