Bob,
Yup, great find! Good for the Cox Stuff.
There are a few goodies in the throw-away pile: Fuel can cap with Pump, Red Spinner for 3 bladed prop, Chicken Stick , wood prop, rubber powered props. My. Oh My! ! Is that a Broken needle valve or a hand held prop balancer? ? one mans junk....

Don't know Rene, but I scavenged some more stuff to the save pile.
Interesting, escapement and accessories will be kept if I can ID them.
This is curious.
Long before my time. Help?

Re: Flea Market single box - Good stuff, Stupid stuff, Throw-away stuff
Bob, in your caption where this has you curious. I can't see everything too well but that might be a solid state circuit board for running a ignition engine. It looks awfully similar to a Larry Davidson setup. Larry resides in Moneta, Virginia. He made two types of setups where one used a coil and condenser and one that used a coil which had it's own circuitry eliminating the condenser. It would be real interesting if this is the setup.

Re: Flea Market single box - Good stuff, Stupid stuff, Throw-away stuff
The electronics are going to take some time to figure out (thanks Levent for the link). Going to stay boxed for now.
Cleaning this stuff tomorrow. The fun stuff.
Good things here, 3 spoke steering wheel off a Cox Dune Buggy (either early or late version) and a heat sync.
Copper/brass fuel tanks will be cleaned and put in the display case.
Good stuff in that little box, and strange intake/exhaust port fuelers?
Welcome Enya needles and spray bars.

Bob --
What a wonderful haul!! I learned to fly R/C using a Rand Actuator identical to the one you acquired -- still have mine, BTW.
You may want to give all your nylon goodies a good water boil before using since they likely have dried out and become a bit brittle.
Congrats one your treasure trove.

Re: Flea Market single box - Good stuff, Stupid stuff, Throw-away stuff
Thanks Andrew, Ken is a nylon propeller cautioner too. I only use them when nothing else is available. I will try to sort that system out of the bunch.
Flea Market seller was asking $60.00 for the lot, Mark talked him into $30.00. Seller thought the electronics quite valuable. To me, the three Cox engines, new in the package glow plugs and Cox heads were worth that.

Strictly AM. Love that stuff. I would be on that in a minute. My son does clocks, old mantle types. Not many just enough to be interesting. There is some kind of clock/box thingy in my load of stuff. Will have to investigate, but first, those Cox engines.

Re: Flea Market single box - Good stuff, Stupid stuff, Throw-away stuff
Hey Robert, Good haul there! It's possible that those white Delrin backplates have fine-thread NVA's. ( I think the early ones did..) If you remove a needle (for cleaning/inspection etc.) make sure it stays with the backplate that it came out of. They may differ between the three.. or they might all be the same.
Two different fine-thread profiles (shown below)
coarse-thread VS. fine-thread (see below)
Always good to score some new-in-package Cox glow-heads too!

Re: Flea Market single box - Good stuff, Stupid stuff, Throw-away stuff
Three identical slit cylinder engines roddie, three slightly different needles. Lightly used engines, no burned on castor, one and done maybe. Cleaned up with no scrubbing.
Pre machined top fin's, no flat cut so I'm not removing them because I'm not a fan of strap wrenches or leather buffers.
Of the three glow heads only one is good, too bad, one of the bad ones has a "W" coil.
As received:
Cleaned them up good enough to run, after that I'll do a better job probably turning the heads on the drill press and 800 grit w/d paper then mount on display stands.
I can't complete one, no prop machine screw, you would think the PO would have stashed one in his parts.............. Another Bernie/Matt order coming up. Darn #5's are hard to come by in the proper lengths.
Always get some goo out of the spray bar, shoot some aerosol RemOil up there then blow out with compressed air. Lot's of flipping and compressed air going on.

Very nice clean up there. I am honestly amazed in how they clean up in the solution you use. Heck, I don't feel mine come out that clean in the crock pot!

Re: Flea Market single box - Good stuff, Stupid stuff, Throw-away stuff
Full strength Simple Green Rene, 5 minute dip (an hour or more will darken the case). Lot's of rotation to distribute, warm water rinse, compressed air blowout. Usually I finish with a soak in 91% alcohol, but not this time. Flush with RemOil and more compressed air and flipping until I'm satisfied. But, these were pretty clean when I started.
I have become fond of this little fella. Colorful with a compression attitude. Only one of the three that evidently hauled it's airplane around the circle that didn't end in a header.
All three are "horseshoe" back plates with the "after market" holes. Anyone know what models Cox used these in?

Re: Flea Market single box - Good stuff, Stupid stuff, Throw-away stuff
Ok, so no one is going to venture a guess. Looked at my Cox products and a single match (slit cylinder) is the Sky Jumper Helicopter, only the black plate is black.
But surprise, no reed in the above engine. I was getting ready to run all three when I thought it a good idea to replace the missing case screw first. Thought, might as well pull the backplate and discovered the reed missing. Ok, so it's in the case, but no.
Would have been fun getting it to run.
Back in the Simple Green, and this time it gets an alcohol rinse.
New mylar reed. Always undecided how to position the reed, 180 or 90 degrees under the ring. Doesn't seem to make much of a difference.

I don't know too old component I will not be able to say how it works but it resambles to a batry or sort of capacitor
Looks very, very old On some photo we see two electronics board exactly the same With what looks like a little buzzer It's very interesting I look at what looks like the first radio receiver command ℅ € ¥ ¶π + - ???? Servo ?? Actuator :

Bob, here's a picture of the Orbit radio equipment with the battery charger shown above. I recognize the other stuff also in the picture. On the website it says "Orbit 12 channel reed".

And one for sale with good pics:

Re: Flea Market single box - Good stuff, Stupid stuff, Throw-away stuff
David, that's a five cell battery that I haven't had a chance to investigate yet. Doubt if it's much good.
Thanks for the pictures and link Lieven, gives me something to go on. Not much good without the transmitter. Switches vice rheostats, really old school.
Rescued some more things out of the "throw-way" box.
Nice Veco clunk tank with an oz of dried up fuel in it. Simple Green soak cleaned it right up. I lost or misplaced this glow plug clip, one of my favorites. Was glad to find two in the box. Someone had wrapped it in the old friction tape, tar soaked fabric that no-one liked. Not easy getting it off. Saved the PO's screwdriver. Don't ask me why.
