Anyone made a model of the Cessna, can't remember the number, the 2 engine and twin boom one, one "puller" on the front and a "pusher" on the rear of the main cabin.

Will dig out the plan. A +e RC but could be converted to c/l.

Simple model made from sheet.

I made one many years ago from the free plan in a UK mag but put a 1 1/2cc DC diesel on the front, a bit of a hand full.

Another one is on my "list" but with and aerofoil wing rather than a sheet "plate" wing this time, Cox powered 049's this time and a slope soarer as well.

Will dig out the plan and mag in the next few days...

Cessna Skymaster 337. One of my favourites. There are plenty of plans around as well as RTF kits. Mostly based on the O2 military version.

Rod.

Pretty sure that's the one, rtf, no, make them, much more satisfying, unless it's a Cox plastic one.

Off to check outer zone...

Outerzone oz5354, ribbed built up wing...will check span against the free mag plan and "play" with scanner to produce wing ribs...better glide than the plate wing.

May just make the Oz one when plan printed off and looked at.

I could picture it in my mind, but still had to look it up.

Cessna twin engines twin boom model Cessna11

But this is the one I always wanted to model.  My P-38 scratch build almost lost out to it.  WW2 German Dornier Arrow.

As I said, one of my favourites.  The sound is unique because the two engines are not balanced the same as two wing mounted engines.  I know one is coming over as soon as I hear it.

I would love to build a 1/2A version with two Pee Wees.  I had in mind to enter it into one of the competitions we thought about holding.  Can't remember which one, but I think my idea came well after the Reed Speed comp.

Cessna twin engines twin boom model 535410
(oz5354) Cessna 336 Skymaster by Robert Welch from American Modeler, July 1964, 38in span

Since you mentioned it, I was looking at it, thought in an interesting plan. There, the author was shooting for a beauty contest winner, maintaining scale appearance as much as possible with a full interior and engines hidden beneath cowls. The rear particularly had a tendency to overheat, mentioned in the article. I'd probably mount the engines with heads exposed for maximum cooling during flight for the health of the engines, but that's me.

Some time back, I recall seeing someone create a profile version of this aircraft, was sharp looking. Regarding plate wings, they are common for smaller half-A aircraft, quick building and good sport flying, but not for all.

Good luck in your endeavors.

Sacrilege, foam and electric, doesn't seem fair. But what a wonderful way to go.

Enjoyed your videos Rene. Knock one out!

There is little advantage to using foam compared to balsa both of which become soaked in engine oil. And for this balsa hold bether an stay stronger than wit foam But I have to admit foam is almost as good too take m'y old tigermoth as exemple it look like crap wit discolored paint and stiky oil al over but after almost 10 years of use at aroundCessna twin engines twin boom model 16511410
