K&B Allyn Fury head insert
looking for the screw in head insert for a K&B Allyn Fury 049-either the integral element type or the std glowplug type doesn't matter....this many years on, can't afford to be too choosy-just want to restore one to running order.

You could tap the existing burned out one for a turbo plug, or a standard plug if power is not an issue. Assuming there is an existing one of course. Try MECOA too.

Aah-but the engine is minus the head insert, minus a needle and minus a prop driver-I've made replica parts for the latter two, but the head insert is beyond my current capabilities....

MECOA has a couple K&B .049 plugs. Not sure which is which. http://www.mecoa.com/acc/glowplug/glowplug.htm

Yes I'm aware of those-but they are no use in this particular situation-they're designed for different engines-the 049 Stallion and the 049 Tornado-the type used in the Fury is different again-being an insert rather than a glowhead-there are two types (and several sizes-to take into account the 049, 06 and 074 cylinder capacities) -one type has an integral element, the other is bored and tapped to take a conventional 1/4-32 plug-either type will work for me-but obviously has to be the 049 one... The different size inserts are colour anodised to identify them-AFAIK the 049 ones are natural alloy (plain), the 06 blue, and the 074 a brownish copper colour
