A quick evening’s project.

A quick evening’s project.
A fellow club member is a 1/2A Snapper fanatic. He’s built many since he was a boy, as he flew with the designer of the Snapper when he was a kid. He has an original set of plans, and he’s very protective of them. But, he wants to build another one, and he wants me to cut the kit for him. I told him I could scan his plans and draw up the .svg files for my Cricut cutter and also make a .pdf of the cut file for his future use. The original plans are slightly different from the ones on Outerzone, but not enough to make a difference if you’re not a Snapper Snob.
I spent a few hours drawing up a cut file and then fighting with the Cricut Design Space program. But, I finally figured how to work around the program’s issues and cut the parts out.
I may make on for myself at some time in the future, but I’m not really keen on the Snapper.

Re: A quick evening’s project.
Our club had a member who was about 2.5 hours away would build many of these older models. He would make a appearance about twice a year and we would all take a handle or two of fly time on his newest builds. He did build a Snapper and it flew quite well. The plane is not a huge fan of the wind. It certainly got real floaty in it and was buffeting a fair amount. My Streaks tend to cut right through it but not the Snapper. Unfortunately, the last I saw of him, he was selling off many models and hasn't returned. I just recently picked up a Zilch he built.
