Wanted OS 10FSR Carb Needed

In my hunt for that carb I was recommended to this site.

I am attempting to resurrect a late gen Tecnopower 7-cyl radial I purchased as a box of bits. There was a small carb included, but the base OD was larger than the bore in the rear cover. I was finally able to find some info on an old Peter Chinn review where he pointed out the builder used the FSR unit. Once I checked the specs I found mine close, but would prefer to stick to original if possible as the current one would require drilling out the cover.

Here are some specs:

The original text shows the carb from a 10FSR, but have read the review on that one, as well, and there is no carb number identified, just some measurements that are remarkably close to mine. The review shows that carb with a bore of 5.5mm above the throttle, while decreasing to 4.8mm below.

From what I can tell I need a carb body that fits into an 8.5mm bore.

I believe that the carburetor of the OS fsr10 is similar to that of the .15 only the throttle barrel is different I believe. I must have the two models to compare I'll see if I can compare the two probably you would be better off using a more precise carburetor than that one With a better one you could benefit from a model with two needle adjustments And have better idling and less risk of flame outOS 10FSR Carb Needed 17108412

This .10 I have is different but the carburetor should resemble that of the .15 and .19 I think. And It's the same  carburetor body on the fp and fsr so the .10fp carburetor might be an option the .10 la should fit but the 10 LA its using a remote needle

You are being slightly less than transparent by referring to the 10FSR and 10LA-but showing photographs of the Max 10-and there's about a 15 year difference between the Max-10 and the FSR, -with the FP and LA being later still. The carb in particular is quite different between the Max 10, and 10FSR. Likewise the Max-15 carb underwent a number of changes during the 12-13 year production (more like 20 year if you include the all silver case drop-in liner version the last model of the Max-15) lifetime. The Max 10FSR carb is a much bigger item than the Max-10 unit....and the latter lacks even an airbleed.

The original poster needs something to fit an 8.5bore...well than can be achieved either by machining down a larger diameter carb stem to 8.5mm or sleeving a smaller one up to 8.5mm-both methods used by manufacturers on various engine versions.

It may be that another brand of carb may work just as well-so Enya Magnum or Fuji might be alternative substitutes..in the approximate displacement size..ie 09-10-12.....

Yes I know that the os max 10 is completely different but use it as a comparison with the .15 which is the one he is looking for In my opinion a better carburetor would be an advantage not that the OS carburetor is not good but a more advanced carburetor with better fuel management at low revs would be better to achieve a lower engine speed Without risking flame out Usually a good 4 stroke engine Most of the time uses a two needle metering valve carburetor this os air blead carb is not the best . Without having precisely given an exact model to choose from.!! Keep in mind that what is important is the carburetor air inlet ventury size, too small will reduce performance and will be difficult to adjust, too large would be bad for the engine As ffkiwi said it would be possible to use any carburetor that would be of good size I could measure some model .15 .10 that I have to help find a better model I think using a car carburetor would be ideal I wil look at the most recent ones I have it will be less difficult to find an engine part that is still in production mabe a os.12 cvr cvx ?? Would be a better carburetor for this engine I think it's a barrel model if I remember correctly this carburetor model should be easy to find

The carb for .10 FSR has a fixed low-speed correction (from the two different intake diameters), the .10 FP is a "better" carb since it has an adjustable airbleed. These two carbs are interchangeable, as far as I know.

The markings on the OS carb is a little odd for the smaller engines, but I have one .10 FSR that has a cast in "2".
The .10FP carb is stamped 1A near the center and has a cast number 1 which is off to one side.
