1971 OS 25 max

hello, i got a os 25 max from 1971 from a hobby shop for $10 that i am restoring to resale, can anyone tell me information on this engine and i noticed on the carb when i removed it from the crankcase that there is a huge crack that bsically renders the rc carb useless and i was wondering if anyone could hook me up with a new carb for this engine
compression is perfect, has the flanged piston and a strap on muffler

This might help, Mitch, friend of mine saw your request, he's not a member here so can't post it, so he asked me to do so, if you have the part numbers you can probably still get the parts from OS if all else fails, they supply most parts for their older engines

Is your engine like the picture with the drop-in liner or is it the older version with the steel cylinder fins? I can't remember when they switched. They may have used the same type carb. The steel fin version was highly regarded in its day. Don't have the newer one but it was probably also a good runner.

Both are iron/steel so should get a break-in. Fuel should contain 20%-22% lube, preferably half castor.

If I understand correctly, you do not intend to run it but restore it to sell. Could you post a pic of the carb you want so folks could help you with an original? Otherwise, most any carb that would fit the crankcase would do.
