Shoot, I forgot all about it.

How much did they have on that E-Flite Ultimate 30-400 biplane?
Re: The American Swap Meet...Recycled Heaven in Crates and Cigar Boxes !!!!
Is that a Ringmaster Imperial? I'm pretty sure that's what the full fuse model was referred as. You just never seen many of those. I'm quite fond of the Ringmaster's in general. A neat find. You have to love when it's time to remove old silkspan. What a pain in @#$% that is. But, once done you have many choices. Or just try and patch her up with a little silkspan and dope. Ken

Sorry Travis, I didn't check it out. Seemed like a good turn out.

Hey Ken,
The Imperial Ringmaster is a tricycle design, this is the Super Ringmaster, I believe the first built-up body design after the S-1. I'm not sure of the chronology, but I believe the Imperial came along later. I've got an ad for it somewhere in my collection of magazines...gonna have to watch for it!
For a long time in my youth, I thought the Super was the only Ringmaster, as it was the model my Uncle Wayne built.
I intend to try patching the ancient silkspan, but it IS pretty brittle.

Kim, I sometimes trim the area to be repaired out square leaving about a 1/2" to fold over on the ribs on each side. I fold it down the spar if it has one as well. If you can determine what type of dope was used it makes things a bit easier. Seeing that it's old, probably Aerogloss. I use this product during new builds, but I also wondered what would happen if I sprayed the entire model in clear afterwards.
http://www.dbproducts.com/store/flex.htm . Brodak used to sell dope rejuvenator. It stinks as in smell if you can find it. It works pretty well if you do light spray coats and it does in fact return the flexibility into the silkspan. I'm not quite sure it's being sold any more. Aircraft Spruce sells butyrate rejuvenator however. Ken
