.020 wheels

.020 wheels
I'm sure this will be an easy one for the group. I'm looking for the wheels for the Cox .020 Landing Gear on the Cox website. The wheels I bought were the only ones I found (3/4" black-10pack) on the site and they dont work. Looks like they need a one piece wheel and axle.

Duke:
Not sure if the Cox .020 LG has "pants" to cover the wheels. If so that may complicate matters.
On my Brodak "Lil' Toot"/ Cox .020 bipe without "pants" I used 3/4" DuBro tail wheels which seems to work well.

Good morning Dave.
Yes, this is the Cox motor mount with landing gear and wheel pants. I have some of the dubro 3/4" tail wheels. These look like the axle is part of the wheel and they snap in.

Sorry pal, can't visualize that. Have some more and try again.

making wheels that fit..
Making a pair of "snap-in" replacement-wheels should be a fairly easy task, if someone could tell us the maximum wheel diameter that will fit (spin) inside the skirt.. along with the required axle-width and the required axle-diameter to snap-in to the retainers.
Here's an example..
Those are 3/4" diameter craft-store wheels which have pre-drilled hubs. Not a difficult item to find. K & S alloy tubing, solid-rod or music-wire is also not difficult to find. Once the proper axle-diameter and width is known, it is then possible to fabricate an axle. I would imagine the size (diameter) to be somewhere between 3/32" (my example) and 1/8".. but that's just a guess.
The wooden wheel's diameter can be easily reduced if needed.. by screwing the wheel onto a Dremel-tool buffing-mandrel and running the wheel against some abrasive paper. The wheel can be centered on the axle by using small flat-washers on both sides. This would prevent the wheel from rubbing on the inside of the pants.

Re: .020 wheels
Then whoever was looking for a set better grab them as they are only ones we have. Of course merch from our eBay store or our website can be added to take advantage of combined shipping.
