Re: My entry in this years Tach Race
I know everything about it as I built it.
Please list your questions and I will answer them.

Re: My entry in this years Tach Race
Well then!
What did you do to build it?
How did you form the intake assembly?
How did you seal the back plate from the reed?
How did you decide on the hole location and size for the intake timing? Or did you just make a hole in a location you thought suitable?
Can you post photos of it disassembled?
Does it run better than as a reedy?

How did you form the intake assembly?
- Chose a cylinder that was good but not valuable.
- Milled a 1/4 " dia. flat on the side below the ex. port.
- Machined a steel tube 1/4" dia. X 5/16" long with 1/8" dia hole through center & threaded OD 1/4 - 32.
- Silver Soldered tube to flat on the cylinder and then drilled 1/8 hole through cylinder wall.
- Cleaned all burrs and lapped cylinder bore.
How did you seal the back plate from the reed?
- The reed is still there but passage behind it is plugged.
- The reed assembly just 'stuffs' the crankcase.
The location of the intake port is determined by available physical space on the side of the cylinder.
The diameter of the port was chosen to match the ID of a Tee Dee crankshaft.
Intake timing appears to be about 95 deg BTDC to 95 deg ABDC.
Pictures will have to wait until it returns from the TACH RACE.
Tach Race will provide performance numbers.

Re: My entry in this years Tach Race
Do you feel that the piston port design offers some advantages or is this more experimental?
