Just in case
There are a few thicko's like me around....

In my earlier weekend thread I had a problem with (I thought) a badly seating reed.
At .48 secs it starts missing a beat until right at the end it stops.

Next day new reed fitted.....
More of the same

Only then did I start chasing it down with a process of elimination.
Glow strong CHECK
Fuel Check... hang on....
I checked inside the container and it looked as though it had been knocked up in
Filthy Mc'nasty's yard. Guess who hadn't filtered his fuel for a few weeks ok ok a couple
of Months? Embarassed

Long story short filter fuel, strip engine (again), blow everything through, yes n/v capillary
choked with crap unblock and clean.
Reassembled it runs beautifully now, starting first flick post run as well.
I forgot one of the basic 'to do's' where tiny Cox's are concerned boys Filter your fuel regularly.

Now all we need is for these gales and rain to go and maybe the CEF travelling prop might
get airborne again.
Very Happy

Yeah, when I was a kid, and even older, I used to shake my fuel before using it(my Dad said to). A bad idea. Even if you filter it and leave it sealed for a length of time, it gets coagulated bits in it that settle to the bottom if not agitated. No wonder my Babe Bees suffered from irregularity.

Go to the back of the class John II....

I didn't bother with this years tach race
Because of last years postal 'experience'
And the Killa B'stard seeming a little 'tired'.

An unexpected afternoon off work has given
Opportunity for investigation.....
It runs but like the Dragon Extreme is a pig
To start. There isn't a great deal of compression
And the HUGE spi gap I'd fashioned didn't
Seem quite as enormous as I recalled either.
Some of you will doubtless know where this is
Headed already.
I pulled the head off and noticed the piston
Wasn't coming up as high at TDC as well.
The socket couldn't need a reset surely, it's
Only had a dozen or so tanks (albeit very
Quickly) through it.
Yes it does!
Can Johnnie reset his Venom type piston
Without wrecking it?
Watch this space
Very Happy
