Displaying Cars and Engines

Is it best to display Cox Engines and Cox Cars in a closed display case? I think just displaying them on a shelf is exposing them to the elements (Smoke,Dust,Ultra-violet,etc.) more so then if the items were enclosed inside a display case/cabinet. Is there certain products you guys use to wipe of dust etc.? Smoking really yellows white plastic parts.

Smoking destroys collectables in my opinion. I just got a NIB RC Bee off of ebay. The damn thing must have been used as an ash tray. The insert back is supposed to be white but it is brown as is the instructions that were exposed. Just nasty and will take years to air out. The insert and instructions are destroyed as there is no way to remove the discoloring that I know of from paper.

Enclosed display is the only way to go. Less maintainence and less risk of damage due to constant cleaning. A nice large glass display cabinet with lighting and mirror back will set you back a grand or more. I have been looking also and these are the prices I have been finding for them.
