Preparing Miss Ada

Picked up this plane from my uncle 3 months back and paid $100 for it, now I have decided that it is time to get her flight ready.
As she sits, she has all electronics but I am not sure if they work as they are older (from the 90's) and have not tested yet, I know they probably will work though as these are the type that I still fly with. I dont know how old the plane is but the story was that my uncle got it from a person that claims that his uncle built it. It needs an engine but im not sure what to use, I have a OS 46, Super Tigre 45 and a Enya 35. I am leaning towards the enya because the bolt holes for the motor mounts line up the best and is the most complete. I dont have a muffler for it though, can I run a enya 35 with out it?

Can you say LOUD! Yes, the engine will run fine without a muffler.
If you find the airplane winds up tail heavy consider ordering a muffler instead of adding other weight to the airplane. New mufflers should be readily available. If you want to run pressure for your fuel tapping the muffler is a lot more simple than tapping the crankcase.
Now...seeing as my tower 40, has a 60 inch wing and an OS .40... I wonder if having 23 more inches of wing will make you underpowered vs drag running the smaller engine, or if this is a slow flying model to begin with.

Yep slow flyer indeed 
The enya I have is unlike the other engines that I have as it has a whole in the crankcase that is tapped for a small brass screw, could this be for running tank pressure?

That is a good possibility. You probably can find the instruction sheets for the engine and make sure.
