Well, seeing the previous topic on the A.C. Gilbert .11 engine, I looked around a bit to see other comments about them. And, being the weak willed individual that I am, I went and ordered two of them from the online seller along with 4 glow plugs on Wednesday night. I just came back from the mailbox and there they were! Two days to my door! I am impressed. Also, he threw in an extra three glow plugs as a bonus. Unless one of these turns out to be a dog, which I have no reason to believe, I'm extremely happy with the service from the seller, Steven Brown. The engines are incredibly clean and have excellent compression. Now I just have to decide on planes to build for them.

Cool. I've been curious about those engines. Any plans to make a bench run video?

Holy Cow! That was fast! Empty Models for the Gilbert

Post  Oldenginerod Fri Nov 08, 2013 3:35 am

A similar looking model to the SIG Shoestring is the Phantom, currently sold by Blackhawk models. It's even shown on the Blackhawk website with a Gilbert installed. The engine suits the model very well, visually at least.
