Well, in a sense they do act as thrust washers. The difference with the spacers is that they fit over the shaft diameter, whereas "real" thrust washers fit only over the spline but not the shaft.

We had the spacers specifically made to fill in the extra length of the crankshaft for those that are bothered by the fact that the shaft of the crank sticks out a bit more than they may be used to or if they plan to use an electric starter.

I don't plan to use an electric starter, and the cshaft sticking a bit more out doesn't bother me at all... So it'll be fine Smile
