The NEW Dynamic U-22 Turbo-Jet Engine from Aug-Sept '64 F.M.
Any of you archivists ever seen, heard, or messed with one of these dogs? A model airplane TURBINE engine in 1964 ??!!! AND with an AFTERBURNER no less !!!!
Pushing 200 bucks in the early 60's...another toy for serious dudes only...and possibly only for those who could afford to burn down their garage.
With those ignition chambers, looks like it was based on Whittle's WWII engine...

Hmmm, never seen this? I do remember a couple guys from England developing a turbine in the mid eighties that got a lot of coverage in the model airplanes mags and lead to the modern day motor.
I got to wonder if this wasn't a modern update of the GHQ?

Yeah...I may still have the copy of Model Aviation that covered it: A twin boom, high-tailed deal...
