Sig offers this kit on their "Vintage control line" page. It would be cool to run a hopped-up readie on this one.. Maybe run your "Speed-Contest" engine and a different prop.. It's not much bigger than the CEF Speed planes... but has built-up construction. 19-1/2" wingspan.. just under 100 sq. in. It's a Stunter... A review recommends substituting hard balsa where possible, to strengthen the airframe.

I see this model appealing to Rusty and Ian in particular... Ian, because this model was designed in an era where small displacement diesels were popular.. and he likes a built-up fuse... and Rusty, because he's into "Precision Aerobatics"... and this model would be fun for someone with his experience.

Pretty cool. Looks like it would be a fun little plane for a Killer Bee.

And all of the Zilch's have a reputation as great flyer's, I have also thought about this one. The other one I like is the Minnesota modelers "snapper"

I like the aeroplane pictured. I always have a preference for built up wing and fuselage (Oh! Have I mentioned that before?)

I liked the Minnesota site. When I saw the "surgical" tubing used for bladder tanks it brough back memories. My mother (a nurse) used to keep me supplied with it. It made me very popular with the club members!

I didn't understand " This is a great transition model from sport airplanes or stunt trainers to the full-blown competition stunter. " .

What is different about the construction/design? I thought all control liners flew level until you waggle the handle!

We were taught using combat planes (Dominators) - they were basically indestructable. I saw quite a few bounce off the ground (and did it myself!), be restarted and then launched immediately. They were sensitive to handle waggling.
