motor snap ring

motor snap ring
not sure if this motor is a .051--.074--or an .09 what puzzles me is the snap ring on the outer cylinder casing just below the exhaust ports ??? thanks,paul

A picture would help, but what you describe sound like a throttle ring.

Some of the Medallion throttle/mufflers has snap rings on the bottom of them to be used where a z bend was used for a throttle linkage setup.
