I didn't put shims in / pulled the crank in with tool till stud broke / good brack/ removeable///. want run for [bleep] fuel coming out the front at drive plate , I spent 1/2 a day switching backing plates including tanked style . what is the problem here?? Huh...

I copy/pasted the link into my browser.. which worked. I don't know why that would have happened. Was the crankcase fairly new? Do you have another one you can try Eric?

I think you got extreme tolerances going on - the shaft is small and the bearing is big. I have several like that. They run fine.

If you want you can either re-anodize to reduce the hole diameter, drill out and press or shrink in a brass bushing, then re-bore the bushing, or leave it alone knowing that it probably has a couple 'undred hours of life left in it.

The buyer emailed us over the weekend, mentioning that he had read on a forum re. issues with the cranks. Below is our reply.

Eric,

The issue you are referring to was one with had with the first batch of USA made cranks but we ran out of those many months ago and the one you received was from the new batch; which was made to exact OEM specs.

We believe the issue would rather be the crankcase tolerances but please keep in mind that there has to be some play; otherwise the parts seize up.

Is there actually a problem when running the engine? Or simply something you noticed?

In any event, we shall send you a replacement crank and crankcase today 
