That's a lot of muffler. Is the center section is a removable silencer like some of the OS mufflers have?

I have heard that the MDS engines had hit and miss carbs due to fit of the carb barrel. Maybe this was on the early versions.

I have seen similar reports on engine and RC forums but take them with a pinch of salt. These are bought because they are cheap - I have repaired a .58 and a .61. One wouldn't idle properly and the other had a broken crankshaft.
I often think that some cheap engines aren't treated with respect and this leads to a bad name.
Both of the engines hadn't been run in properly. Fortunately - spares were just as cheap!

Just over 18000rpm in the video. That's with the stock quiete muffler as well.
I'm putting it in a Mini Nemesis from Seagull, should be as blast.
