My favorite engine for speed limit combat. I have a adjustable venturi on mine with a remote needle. I use an 8x4 and let it rip. Two of mine have been going strong now for the past 3 years. A lot of power with these. Unfortunately, they're no longer in production at least here in the US. The new ones are the square head Magnum XLII. No problems with the newer square heads, it's just the parts don't interchange. The ASP is the Magnum under another badge. Ken

I have 2 OS Max 25 a ASP 25 and a Magnum 25 like you show. The OS engines were $0 gifts from fellow modelers

If they did not have side markings you would be hard pressed to see any difference

The Taiwan and Mainland Chinese started manufacturing copies a lot like Japan did in the 50s~60s. My memory is the Japan stuff was junk for about 10 years before they got quality control and manufacturing clearances sorted out. Seems to me the Taiwan and Mainland Chinese are leaping forward in the quality department fairly fast

Back to the OS (Japan) versus clone Magnum (China) that is significantly cheaper to buy. I think only time will tell if the lower cost copy is/was worth the lower buy in point

Considering I would only put 3 or 4 hours a year on the $47 Magnum I doubt the Tower price of $80 for a 25 LA or $125 for the 25 FX would yield a better or longer life engine
