Nice picture and engine.  Much nicer than mine bought new back in 1954 or 55.  There is another one just like it somewhere in Raymond NH that was mounted on an airplane and just let go.  I will find it I thought at the time Sad.   I chased it but the engine just would not quit and I lost sight of it as it circled away.

Notice the scratches on the crankcase, results from an alligator clip rater than a proper Cox glow plug clip.  This is the engine that I unintentionally paneled in behind a wall only to remember where I put it years later.

Congrats to both contenders, there are no losers here, just winners.

I've never run one yet, how did yours run? None of the reeds work well on mine, maybe why they haven't been run much if at all.
Nice story about chasing your model, sorry you lost it but made me chuckle when I saw it in my minds eye. Laughing

I know the feeling on the free flight chase...I lost many rockets as a teen. When I was younger I watched the only free flight I recall my dad flying do something similar.

Alright, you're gonna have to explain that tank to me. It looks pretty cool!

Thanks to those who voted for my engine. The tank was imported from Japan by Tower Engineering and was designed to work with the first 2 speed engines control line or RC. Those engines has 2 needle valves. To use with this tank, a fuel line was run from each needle to the valve block on the bottom of the tank. One needle was set for a peaked out mixture; Hi speed. The other was set for a rich mixture, as rich as possible without stalling the engine; low speed. The tank had a valve in the block with2 positions. One position turned on the top line, the other position turned on the bottom line. The valve was operated by a spring wind-up motor. It was wound up with the screw on top of the tank. So you had to remember to wind up the escapement rubber and the tank's throttle spring before each flight.

Primitive by today's standards, but in the 50's stuff like this was common. Great days!

Thanks again. Now I'm off to the Lebanon Pa swap meet. I have a table at the far west end of the west room. Stop and say hi. I'll have my Cox Tee Shirt on.

Both of mine ran very well, to well regarding the lost one. I must have had it really leaned out. I had both mounted on Walt Musciano designed models. Some day I'm going to power that one up again.
