I hate it when they don't mark an engine.

That's an easy one.

Fox .049 or .07

Externally they are not much different. Leaning towards an .07 due to the driveplate and lack of markings.

look at the top of the piston. If it is flat it is an .07. If it has a little bump (the head of a rivet) it is an .049

Looks like a .049 and happy the glow head lights up nice and bright. Any idea of the value?

I always look at the flange at the bottom of cylinder, the 049 on left has a thicker flange, the .07 the case is taller and flange on bottom of cylinder is not as thick. Also, the .049 has 8 fins above exhaust port, while the .07 (right) has 9.

Sorry, but it's not an Infant. Good try though. The .049 was the only one of the 3 similar engines (.020, .035 & .049) which used a glow plug. The .035 Torp Jr. and the .020 Infant use an insert with a clamp ring, much like the Norvel style. (or Merlin etc).

i was so close i didn't have anything to scale the size to so i guessed and it was his big brother

It's a O.K. Cub .060 Reed valve (supposedly designed by Bill Atwood) made in the early 60's, the counter weights are actually a "Snap" starter, you'd push the yellow button from the side of fuselage and it would pull a pin releasing a spring.
