Who are you?

Re: Who are you?
That's an easy one.
Fox .049 or .07
Externally they are not much different. Leaning towards an .07 due to the driveplate and lack of markings.

Re: Who are you?
look at the top of the piston. If it is flat it is an .07. If it has a little bump (the head of a rivet) it is an .049

Re: Who are you?
Sorry, but it's not an Infant. Good try though. The .049 was the only one of the 3 similar engines (.020, .035 & .049) which used a glow plug. The .035 Torp Jr. and the .020 Infant use an insert with a clamp ring, much like the Norvel style. (or Merlin etc).cox24711 wrote:fogot the make it is a infant 020

That's a really nice RTF, Mark. If one were to template it and come up with a reasonable facsimile of it in balsa today powered by an 049 of any type, would make for an eye catching flier. I like the classic lines.
I remember as a kid in the mid 1960's (4th through 6th grade) looking at the CL RTF's in the Sears, Penney, Ward, etc. toy catalogs and toy section of the main catalogs. Although they were beautiful eye candy printed in full color, I never had one.
And deviating slightly off topic, I says me to I

I am glad that at least in Singapore and Malaysia, there are school children programs for kids to learn to build and fly 1/2-A CL. Singapore is one of the most densely populated cities in the world and yet they can accommodate kids with noisy airplanes.
After living in So. Cal. 10 years, it seemed kids couldn't even breathe there. They wonder why there is a drug problem. It's perhaps why I am glad I live in a rural area. (I once told someone, 5 minutes and I am outside town. He asked me, "Why did it take so long?" Although I must say it baffles the mind that recreational drug use should be a major problem for even rural New Mexico, unfortch. )
My son could build "dangerous" potato guns out of PVC and he and his friend would spend hours doing "dangerous" stuff in what used to be a vacant 20 acre field behind our house (now filled with houses), LOL.
