Re: Cox Powered Tethered Model
That's right out of OUTTER SPACE with some star wars in it . What year did that come out New222 ? I do hope your going to build one , sounds like you been looking for it awhile . It has some cool set up inside to make everthing become external for starting and adjusting the fuel flow and the air vain propulsion off the tube is really neat stuff . Getback

Re: Cox Powered Tethered Model
I want to say that it came out in the late 60's. It was in an old Popular Mechanics Encyclopedia set I believe. It was a red hardcover book and gold lettering is what I can recall right now. Yes, I have been looking for it and wanting this for a while now, and would love to build one, and I still may. The only thing I did not know when first hearing of this was it required a Cox .020. The individual that mentioned this to me said for a Cox engine, but he did not know there were different sizes available. So, without that, this is kind of now on the backburner, until a suitable engine is found.

Could very well be. The plans say Pee Wee .020. I will be watching locally on our buy and sell. I am not in a hurry right now, and when the time is right, I will find one. Just like the TeeDee .051 I had wanted for a while, and while playing around not specifically looking for one, I found one for a good deal.

Re: Cox Powered Tethered Model
It was odd that the F-100 was the only model to use that prop. I remember seeing that artical many years ago, but not sure of date, would guess early 60's?
Re: Cox Powered Tethered Model
I cannot remember the exact year, but early 60's sounds correct. Red hardcover book series with gold lettering on the cover and ends.

I tried making a 0.020 hovercraft a long time ago, but didn't know it needed a skirt and duct. It just kinda stuck to the ground. I probably still have the motor. It might be fun to try again, maybe with some flaps underneath to direct air so you can rotate and tilt with R/C?
